What is a ground floor or first floor storage unit?
A ground floor storage unit makes it easier to access and does not require the use of an elevator. However, the convenience of a first floor storage unit usually comes with a cost, and are typically more expensive.
What is elevator access or a upper floor storage unit?
An elevator access storage unit makes it a little more difficult to load and unload your storage unit and requires the use of an elevator or stair case. However, a upper floor storage unit typically will be less expensive.
What is a storage locker?
A storage locker has a reduced ceiling height between 4 to 6 feet. These storage units are good for storing small items; like suit cases, small household items, school and dormitory items, office supplies or holiday decorations. Storage lockers are usually less expensive than other units and could be the ground floor or accessed with a rolling ladder.
What is an onsite storage manager?
The manager of the storage facility actually lives in an apartment that is typically attached to the storage facility. The storage unit tenants get a feeling of security, knowing that a manager is nearby to address emergency matters or other matters that could occur after hours.
What is extended hours?
Usually storage facility office hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Extended hours could be from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm or even 24 hours a day, giving storage tenants more access to their storage unit.
What is keypad access?
A keypad entrance storage facility will control who enters and exits the facility. The tenant is provided a personal gate code and prevents non renters from entering the gated property.

Great staff, clean space and liked the dollys by door made move in a lot easier
If you have ever moved everything you own hundreds of miles, then you know the nightmare. Mine began with trouble with the rental trucks not being available when and where they said they would be. Then because of that delay and underestimating how long it would take to load the trucks, we fell a day behind. We then made the drive across Utah and Wyoming during high winds. By the time we got to Ft Collins we were all spent. Then we reached the Storage Star facility. The staff new our situation and had stayed in touch through the whole adventure. They greeted us with compassion and understanding. So friendly! They both went so far out of their way to help us anyway they could. We told them how much we appreciated them, but I don't think they really know how much they helped. Storage facilities are all similar as far as their use,but customer service like this is rare. Thank you Annette and Danny. You guys rock!
I was stressed from moving & frustrated when I arrived at the storage facility to get the key, etc. and a sign on the door said they would be back in 30 minutes. They handled my frustration compassionately, explaining that only one person is working, and they needed a lunch break. NOTE: Call ahead if front desk help is needed. The price is good. The location is not convenient, but the facility is clean.
