What is a ground floor or first floor storage unit?
A ground floor storage unit makes it easier to access and does not require the use of an elevator. However, the convenience of a first floor storage unit usually comes with a cost, and are typically more expensive.
What is elevator access or a upper floor storage unit?
An elevator access storage unit makes it a little more difficult to load and unload your storage unit and requires the use of an elevator or stair case. However, a upper floor storage unit typically will be less expensive.
What is a storage locker?
A storage locker has a reduced ceiling height between 4 to 6 feet. These storage units are good for storing small items; like suit cases, small household items, school and dormitory items, office supplies or holiday decorations. Storage lockers are usually less expensive than other units and could be the ground floor or accessed with a rolling ladder.
What is an onsite storage manager?
The manager of the storage facility actually lives in an apartment that is typically attached to the storage facility. The storage unit tenants get a feeling of security, knowing that a manager is nearby to address emergency matters or other matters that could occur after hours.
What is extended hours?
Usually storage facility office hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Extended hours could be from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm or even 24 hours a day, giving storage tenants more access to their storage unit.
What is keypad access?
A keypad entrance storage facility will control who enters and exits the facility. The tenant is provided a personal gate code and prevents non renters from entering the gated property.

Process was simple. All staff were knowledgeable and helpful.
Great customer service!!
Cheryl, the property manager, was wonderful. Her calm, professional manner and her thoughtful attitude turned what could have been a disaster into merely an inconvenience. She did a great job of handling a system malfunction that she could not control. However, I would suggest that the company make provisions for calamities such as the one that occurred, where the entire Public Storage computer system went haywire and no transactions could be completed. Provisions that allow staff to complete transactions with paperwork that can be entered into the system at a later time and then be destroyed by shredding so not to leave paper copies on the premises. If it were not for Cheryl's considerate actions this move would have cost me hundreds of dollars more than I expected to pay. I don't know what I would have done...Thanks so much Cheryl!
It was an Awesome Experience@ the Public Storage @3835 W 159th in Markham. The Customer service was the type I would love to experience@ all businesses I come in contact with. Thanks for Such Awesome Employees.
Manager was professional. She made sure I had the right size unit and she was thorough in her explanation of the facility. Because of the use of an outside unit, she informed that I should buy a container of beads purchased inside which would let me know if the unit was accumulating moisture. I did this. Although I had my own mattress covers, she asked me if I had them because she indicated that most people don't think about it when putting mattresses in storage. I appreciated her mentioning these two things to me.
Sonja was very professional and courteous. In and out with no whammies!
Cheryl was very helpful in assigning me a storage unit. The facilities look good so far and this should work out well!
